I work as a project engineer in a project with İSKİ which called as Flowmeter Replacement and Infrastructure Facilities on the Main Transmission Line of Drinking Water Treatment Plants. Within the scope of the work, we perform fault detection and replacement of magnetic and ultrasonic flow meters in certain locations on the Anatolian and European sides of Istanbul, and new flow meters and valve installations on the lines. My responsibilities:1. At the beginning of the work, making field explorations, detecting defective flow meters and suggesting needle valve installations where necessary,2. Presenting a business plan to the administration after the exploration is over,3. Organizing factory acceptance tests,4. To prepare temporary measurement reports before flowmeter and valve changes and to present mechanical, construction and electrical projects of flowmeter rooms after equipment changes,5. Placing and commissioning rtu panels where necessary for flowmeters to communicate with SCADA systems,6. Construction, electricity, etc. To have the necessary excavations for the subcontractors according to the procedures specified in the tender,7. Execution of OHS activities,8. Supply of personnel needs or equipment to be used for business purposes,9. Contacting institutions such as Tedaş and İgdaş before working.

My main tasks:1. Making the design, drawing and material selection of the electrical panels we produce for fire pumps, clean water pumps, circulation pumps,2. Programming of and hmi of Delta or Siemens according to customer demand,3. To work as an occupational health and safety specialist (I work as the assistant of our full-time OHS specialist, since at least B class certificate is required due to our job and I have a c class OHS certificate),4. I am working on getting the UL508A standard required to enter the American market.

We maintained and repaired fire, drainage and ventilation systems on M2 (Yenikapı-Hacıosman) and M6 (Levent-Boğaziçi Üniversitesi) metro line that belong to Metro İstanbul. In addition to that, sometimes we provided business development proposals. We were responsible for nearly 10000 equipments. The equipments that we maintained were boilers, burners, chiller, air conditioning systems, screw compressors, alarm valves, sewage ejectors, drainage pumps, sewage pumps, booster, submersible pumps, gas fire extinguishing systems, fire pumps, fire reel cabinets, deluge/pre-action valves, pressure control valves, butterfly valves, flow switches, portable fire extinguishers, hydrant valves, pneumatically actuated dampers, diffuser axial fans, exhausting and supply fans. Moroever, we used to apply weekly, monthly, for 3, 6, 12 months maintenance. My missiond as a maintenance engineer were: o Directing maintenance team according to our two-year plan,o Creating maintenance team according to their abilities,o Keping maintenance and fault records seperately for all equipments,o Preparing progress payment end of each month,o Preparing weekly reports and sometimes making presantations.o Attending weekly meeting with Metro İstanbul's engineers.o Making a purchase for our workers what they need (shoes, working clothes etc.)
