Genknowme is an innovative life science startup company dedicated to transform breakthrough research and clinical science into actionable lifestyle epigenetics tests. Based on my own and my co-founder's research, we founded this company to develop and commercialise novel blood tests to measure epigenetic clocks of ageing and epigenetic signatures of lifestyle risk factors associated with ageing and chronic disease. I was the administrator and CEO of the company for its first two years of existence, up to the successful launch of its first product, after which I transitioned to administrator and Chief Medical Officer once the COVID19 pandemic required me as a medical doctor and epidemiologist in another appointment.

My main tasks were to design, plan, conduct and analyse epidemiologic population-based mono and multicenctric studies of which I was co-investigator and coordinator: the Swiss Health study pilot and the Serocovid study (serology of SARS-CoV-2 in the population of Canton of Vaud, part of the National program Corona immunitas). I was supervising between 5 and up to 100 research collaborators for dedicated projects, for whom I also conducted the recruitment. I mainly supervised medical residents and research associates.I contributed to undergrad and postgrad teaching to medical students and to students of certificate of advanced studies and of masters of advanced studies. I was representing Unisanté in scientific committees, such as the Expert Committee of the Swiss Public health association.

My main tasks were to design, plan, conduct and analyse epidemiologic population-based mono and multicenctric studies of which I am co-investigator and coordinator, the Swiss Health study pilot. In addition, I was the beneficiary of a tech transfer grant InnoTREK of the Fondation vaudoise pour l'innovation technologique to conduct the startup project Genknowme, based on my research in epigenetic epidemiology of chronic disease and premature ageing. I contributed to undergrad and postgrad teaching to medical students and to students of certificate of advanced studies and of masters of advanced studies. I supervised teams of 1-3 research collaborators, including medical residents. I was representing IUMSP in scientific committees, such as the Expert Committee of the Swiss Public health association.I started as adjunct senior medical resident and became promoted once I obtained the Board-certification FMH title. The IUMSP merged with other institutions to create Unisanté in December 1st, 2019, and my appointment was transferred as part of a merging convention.

I conducted research projects, including both laboratory and statistical genetic and epigenetic analyses, of the California Childhood Leukemia Study. as a side project, I also conducted a study on the epigenetic alterations found in neonates born with a cleft lip and/or palate.

In the laboratory of molecular epidemiology of Prof. Joseph Wiemels, I conducted research projects, including both laboratory, bioinformatic and statistical genetic and epigenetic analyses, of the California Childhood Leukemia Study. I was the beneficiary of two research grants from the Swiss Cancer League and the Swiss National Foundation for Scientific Research.

This appointment was part of my postgraduate education in Preventive medicine and Public health. I designed, conducted and analysed projects on architecture and health in nursing homes, and on the monitoring and planning issues of the local healthcare workforce.

I conducted research in smoking epidemiology, including my Medical Doctorate, and a pilot clinical study in smoking prevention as the principal investigator: a randomized controlled trial supported by the Fonds fédéral pour la prévention du tabagisme. In addition, I performed clinical medical work in ambulatory general internal medicine and in the emergency room.

This appointment was part of my postgraduate education in Preventive medicine and Public health. I performed clinical work in radio-oncology (as a temporary substitute medical resident) and in clinical smoking cessation with hospitalized patients.
