My mission is to contribute to building a world where diversity, equity and inclusion are no longer topics, but "all" have the feeling that they belong. Since work in this area needs to come from many places, I wear many hats in my professional life in order to work on this mission from multiple angles. I am especially passionate about female leadership and entrepreneurship, and many of my current activities are focused here.As a speaker and facilitator, I present in companies and for organizations on a variety of topics around leadership: inclusive leadership, female leadership and empowerment. My style incorporates storytelling and humor in order to create an atmosphere that is open, authentic and inspiring. The same is true for the courses and programs I offer through Female Works, where I help women discover their “zone of genius” in order to reach their full potential and create a career and life on their terms.Further, I believe that change happens when it occurs at many levels of society including in government and economic policy. To this end, I've worked passionately for the City of Amsterdam since 2011, where I have held various roles related to DEI. Currently my work with the City is focused on entrepreneurship at Startup Amsterdam. This work supports my belief in supporting under-represented groups to innovate and lead successfully. Within the past 3 years I helped build a female hub in Amsterdam for women in tech and female entrepreneurs in tech (@equals-nl). Equals aims to support women in the development and growth of their careers so to create more equality in the workforce. Today, I'm a member of the Advisory Board of Equals and connect them to other stakeholders and communities that can help them to reach their goals. I'm also an ambassador of Equals initiative and participate in panels and events as a speaker on national and international level.
