A. A. Semsar Yazdi was born in 1956 in Yazd, Iran. In 1980 he graduated from the University of Shiraz in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Then, with some 7 year career in Water Management, he was admitted to the INSA de Lyon, France. From which he graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering. Then he returned to Iran and took part in setting part such water organizations as:Yazd Reginal Water AuthorityYazd Water MuseumQanat CollegeInternational Center on Qanats and Historic Hydraulic Structures (ICQHS)His research interest is Qanat (Kariz), as a traditional and sustainable water supply system, and related issues.
