I have been working for the International Rescue Committee since the year 2000 after being resettled by them as a refugee in 1998. Over the years, I have played various roles in the organization, allowing me to help and guide people who are starting on their new journey much like I did many years ago. In 2008, I began to work on the financial side with these same immigrants, guiding them in building their economic foundation in the United States. This led me to being a key player in the establishment of IRC's Center for Economic Opportunity, a subsidiary that gives out loans to immigrants and low income people in our surrounding community. These loans allow them to build up their credit scores, start their own business, and live fully the second chance they've been given. My passion is to provide all people an equal opportunity at economic advancement and look forward to expanding CEO's reach in the years to come.
