As a passionate marketer, my ambition is to Brand (design) and develop innovative strategies that will enhance the organization that I am a part of. I enjoy the challenge to transform products and develop them. I have a real passion for developing a relationship with clients in order to understand their branding needs and come up with new ideas with innovative advertising.I am qualified in Business Administration and graduated with a Master of Business Administration from University of Wolverhampton, UK. Because of my passion and love doing branding and marketing I have studied Diploma in Strategic Brand Management – SLIM, Diploma in Digital Marketing- ACPD, and Diploma in Multimedia- Wytech Private Ltd which is important to knowing the in and out of the marketing and branding aspects.Having joined Wijeya Newspapers Ltd in 2009, I was given a position in the education section. The newspaper comprised the Education Times section, which was originally a modest supplement with an average of 8 pages. However, it now boasts over 56 pages weekly revenue of 4 million to 6 million rupees. The readership and advertisers have increased many folds. The prestige of the paper grows daily. In order to facilitate this growth, strategies such as developing new products, marketing them as well as tapping new target markets were among the initiatives taken.An indicator of the success was being awarded a Gold Award/ 1st Place at the SLIM NASCO awards, 2015 (National Sales Congress Sri Lanka). And I am proud to mention, that I am the first person to win the SLIM NASCO gold award from the newspaper industry among all the media stations up to date (Newspaper, Radio, TV and Social Media). This has resulted in me being promoted to Head of Education Sections and Manager Marketing for Wijeya Newspapers Ltd Group and in heading all the Education Sections in five Newspapers. My experience shows that I can identify the product and the brand image that each client. I am very particular about the feedback from clients’ comments and through because it creates the brand recommendation for others. I am confident that my experience in marketing, branding, and engaging with people. I always love to think out of the box and come up with innovations and memorizing branding ideas, which is helping my last 12 years of working closely with customers, students and our future generation.
