Senami Anko is a Lecturer of Environmental Chemistry at the Lagos State University. She had her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry at the Lagos State University, Ojo, Nigeria, and working with data has been a crucial part of her research studies. She is currently studying for her PhD in Environmental Chemistry as well.She has a number of publications, and presentations at notable conferences, such as the Alexander von Humboldt Conference; VCCA Conference, University of Mauritius; University of West Indies Chemistry Seminars, Jamaica; Commonwealth Chemistry Posters, LASU International Research Fair Poster Presentation; and NOBCCHE Conference in USA.Her research studies have won several awards such as the Dean's Young Scholars Award, Lagos State University; Commonwealth Chemistry Posters Award and Grant, Royal Society of Chemistry; as well as the NOBCCHE Tier 1 Award and Grant, USA.She is passionate about Nature and the Environment, and seeks, through research, to develop sustainable solutions in restoring it. Currently, she is working on a ground-breaking research study for a bio-tech solution which aims to tackle the age-old problem of post-harvest waste and food scarcity in urban cities. Her advocacy platform, 'The Greene Life', also reaches out to people in her community about the dangers of pollution, and their role in its eradication.She is also a Public Speaker, one-time TedxOAU Speaker, and by sharing her ideas on waste management and food insecurity, she aims to make an impact in her community and country at large.
