Creative thinker and strategy engineer with a focus on R&D Project Management and Start-up Development.After working 10 years in shipbuilding and defense industries, Sena started his start-up career in 2011 as a co-founder of a corporate spin-off engineering company. An engineer by training; defense industrialist by experience and a serial entrepreneur; Sena continues heading several start-ups in different industries, transferring his know-how to bring out the best results and success stories with a multidisciplinary approach. Sena utilizes his extensive skills of business development, innovative thinking, R&D, strategy making and network building for the good of other entrepreneurs through coaching and mentoring, as well as his own businesses. Sena has founded and managed multiple teams showing proactive, empathic and creative leadership. His talent management skills also reflect to business partnerships he builds in different industries through projects he leads in a strategic roadmap manner, where he contributes to capacity building and co-creation abilities, which can help networks become ecosystems. Since 2015, Sena is the Co-Founder & COO of RS Research, a clinical-stage biotechnology start-up developing nanomedicines based on innovative drug delivery platform Sagitta(TM) for targeted chemotherapy. He founded RS Research together with Prof. Rana Sanyal to take the necessary steps for bringing cutting-edge therapies based on its disruptive technology for patients who are fighting cancer. With his previous experiences in starting and managing small business, fundraising, as well as grant submissions and tax issues, Sena is responsible for all administrative, operational and financial processes. Sena has BEng and MEng degrees from Istanbul Technical University Marine Engineering Department, and he is currently working toward his PhD. He speaks English and Turkish fluently. Sena, no longer a professional at sea, challenging the waves to safely berth a colossal ship, but is an amateur enjoying the sail in harmony with the wind and the water.

Business Development & Projects ManagerIstanbul Shipyard Jun 2003 - Aug 2010• Managing MOSHIP & RATSHIP projects, developed for the Turkish Navy. The Submarine Rescue Ship (MOSHIP) is designed to perform sub-sea and surface rescue missions in heavy seas. Installed with deep rescue equipment/systems, the MOSHIP’s main roles will be to provide life support to the crews of damaged submarines, to accomplish submarine rescue operations in a maximum of 72 hours, to handle rescue and salvage operations for surface ships and to provide underwater repair work and wreck removal. The MOSHIP will carry national, NATO and other partner submarine rescue vehicles to the scene of a submarine accident. The overall aim of the project is to provide an effective and available national based submarine rescue capability with minimum life cycle costs and remain interoperable with NATO assets. The salvage ships (RATSHIPS) will perform surface ship salvage, towing, support for submarine rescue operations and act as a target ship during exercises. • Managing the execution of all system and import procurements.• Executing tender documentation and contract management, as well as cost analysis processes for the governmental and naval projects.• Managing participation to national and international exhibitions (such as IDEF, DIMDEX, SOFEX, DSA, IDEX); all kinds off marketing and business development activities. • Managing contracted new-building projects.
