How I got here is an interesting story, keep reading below.In November 2019, I referred a pilot friend to the local Cirrus Sales Director about a potential purchase. That referral led to a demonstration flight which I was fortunate to be a part of and I subsequently befriended the Sales Director. That friendship essentially poured gasoline all over my dormant interest in aviation. After participating in various events and flyouts, I couldn't stop thinking about flying, the Cirrus SR-series, and the company... Enter the pandemic. During the shelter-in-place phase in early 2020, I had several opportunities to reflect on my career, current situation (no pun intended), and where I want to be several years from that point. That reflection combined with the excitement of Cirrus led me to begin flight training in order to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a pilot. Where did this desire to become a pilot emerge from? Top Gun, of course! While still in high school, I was ready to join the Armed Forces with the goal of becoming a fighter pilot. However, I had corrected vision which was not allowed at the time. I opted to pursue a career in the automotive space instead, which eventually led me to Tesla. But even in my early days at Tesla, I followed Cirrus closely and I always thought of ways I could potentially become a part of the company in the future. Circling back, that friendship with the Cirrus Sales Director resulted in a connection to a recruiter at Cirrus. After several interviews sharing my renewed passion for aviation and ways I can help the company grow, I was offered a position and the rest is history. It was a difficult decision to depart from Current Automotive but looking back, it was the right one for me personally.
