🔍 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐞:I am Souvik Sengupta, currently a passionate Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee). My research endeavors focus on the intricate domain of power systems control and optimization.🌐 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡:I am actively engaged in research on voltage and reactive power (Volt/VAR) control, solar PV, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). My work also includes forecasting solar PV power and load demand using machine learning and AI techniques. I have published conference papers on topics such as advanced Volt/VAR control in active distribution networks and PHIL experimentation for evaluating BESS performance.I was the project lead for the D-SIDES Project, a multinational initiative funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India, which successfully addressed the challenges of integrating MW-scale solar PV panels at the distribution level. I contributed to the installation of a 150 kWh BESS on the IIT Roorkee campus. Our efforts transformed the campus into a smarter, self-sustainable, and eco-friendly educational hub, earning international recognition through the 2022 IEEE Smart Cities Award.🎓 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲:In addition to my current pursuits, I hold a Master's degree in Power Systems from NIT Hamirpur, India. My Master's thesis focused on enhancing the transient stability of a Hybrid Wind-PV Farm by incorporating FACTS devices.💡 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐭: I define myself as a devoted professional with a passion for Power Systems and Renewable Energy Technology. My skill set includes analytical thinking, curiosity, fast learning, effective teamwork, and thriving in challenging scenarios. I am proficient in system modeling, Volt/VAR control, solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and project leadership.
