The constant aping of the exemplar and the lack of a firm implementation framework has set the Indian real estate (RE) sector for greater erosion. Stochastic innovations have led to a rapid rejection of long-debt real estate assets, thus driving up the cost of innovation. I focus on NPD strategies as RE transforms into a short-term asset and competes with other short-debt investments. I chart micro frameworks based on the Jobs-to-be-Done theory and the Outcome-Driven Innovation Model to prevent the misjudgment of consumer needs resulting in abortive innovations in an age of minimum consumption. Given the complex buying tendencies within the Indian RE marketplace, I have advocated both the value-addition and value-depletion techniques. After multiple iterations, my team and I have improved the front end of NPD in RE by adopting micro-market assessment, balancing visioning and refinement, product proto-typing, feature prioritisation, and impact forecasting.
