Daraz is South Asia's largest e-commerce platform with a mission of uplifting communities through power of commerce targeting to serve 50 million by 2030. Will be responsible to establish and head the strategy, business intelligence and planning function for Sri Lankan operations similar to more established Daraz locations - Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan. I will be therefore, closely working with the global and regional teams in establishing the business strategy for Sri Lanka - a country yet to be fully explored. Strategy and Planning function will also play a key role in triggering the right promotions, product placements and buyer activations while analyzing daily performance. Key responsibility of this role would be to improve organic growth to optimize the EBITDA of LK operation.During my brief stay, designed a process for the monthly commercial planning which will align all stakeholders and set baseline for performance measuring, improved the subsidy efficiency by 40% through standardisation and elimination of unhealthy discount mechanics, spearheaded and conducted the first ever strategy session for LK, finalized the LK FY24 focus areas and formulated the FY24 subsidy strategy.

Key responsibilities also include ensuring the execution of key strategic initiatives across functions and setting up the governance structure around the same. The strategy formulation process consist of working with the functional teams around 4 categories: People and Planet, Process, Partnerships and Product.This role also provides direct decision making support to the Executive Committee in alignment to the organizations mid to long term business strategy and works closely with the finance team to ensure the benefits stemming from the strategic initiatives are realized in monetary terms.

Responsible for the formulation of the 2025 Business and Operations Strategy and the execution roadmap for MAS Kreeda - currently a $400 Million revenue generating Organization. The role entails reviewing the existing processes and tools across the business and to draw up the "blue sky" for the organization for 2025 transformation journey. This includes product offering, process innovation, product innovation, people and culture transformation, organization design and strategic partnership creation. The role also encompass ensuring an internally set bottom line target is achieved by 2025 and therefore is responsible to assess and identify projects contributing to any gaps identified financially as well. I will directly report to the CEO in this role.

Spearheaded the turnaround strategy for MAS Kreeda for 2019-2021 and lead the strategic transformation of the business to be future ready through optimizing the operations, sourcing and finance strategies. Facilitated and initiated change across the organization to change direction on key processes to deliver sustainable business performance in the next 3 years. Directly reported to CEO during this tenure with indirect reporting to head of turnaround - MAS holdings.Achievements include successful completion of 200+ initiatives worth of ~$70mn resulting in 10 fold profitability improvement within 2 years, Manufacturing Cost per Hour reduced by 25%, 7.3% improvement on Raw Material Consumption and Selling and Admin overheads as a % of revenue reduced by 32%

MAS Kreeda is a newly centralized arm for Nike Business of MAS Active. I directly report to the COO while being responsible to initiate and execute the strategic decisions that are approved at an operational level for manufacturing, supply chain, industrial and systems engineering, lean management, quality and embellishment operations.Designing of the operations strategy for the 400 Mn business and ensure all key stakeholders are involved in the process and cascading the responsibilities to each functional director is one of my core responsibility. Also i work closely with all of the functional executive committee members to ensure our business is ready for thr growth we are looking at for the next 5 yearsThis also entails ensuring timely and accurate monitoring of the initiatives that are in place which encompasses working with operations teams and strategy teams across the cluster to understand and work on process improvements and efficiency improvements in the operations as I am currently also working on a project to operationalise a location diversification strategy which is in initial stages of business proposal creation.

Responsible for the Treasury and Accounts Receivable function for one of the largest apparel manufacturers in Sri Lanka. This includes ensuring on time delivery of fund transfers and funding process for the Organization and ensuring the cash position is managed on a daily basis. Service delivery includes ensuring all KPIs and CPIs are maintained at te agreed level and ensuring all inter departmental deliverables are completed on time. In addition to the above main responsibilities, direct customer follow ups are one of the key tasks of the team. Team is responsible to ensure the over dues are kept at an agreed level and any issues pertaining to the same need to be escalated.

ResponsibilitiesDue Dilignece Phase - Handled the Treasury Operations and Accounts receivable operations due diligence process for Transamerica LLC (subsidiary of Aegon) , first F&A US client for WNS operations. Understanding their current process flow across 6 Busines Units and mapping the same to progress to the next phase to re-engineer the process was key responsibilities.BPR phase (Business Process Re-engineering) - Responsible for the re-engineering of the process to ensure new efficiency parameters are introduced and technology elements are introduced to streamline operations. This included designing of a new treasury workstation for treasury operations. Knowledge Transition Phase - Was responsible for the onshore knowledge transition for Cash Mgt treasury operations as well as Accounts receivable. Managing multi location staff and ensuring the planned knowledge transition methodologies are utilized and followed to complete the phase were critical deliverables. Operations - Responsible to head the operations for Treasury Ops and Accounts Receivable for Transamerica operations in WNS. This will include desgining, monitoring, measuring and meeting the set SLAs for all functions and ensure the operations reach a steady state at the minimum time limit possible.
