During my under-graduation, I led a team of 25 final and pre-final year mechanical engineering students, representing College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University in the national level inter-college all–terrain vehicle (ATV) racing event BAJA SAEINDIA 2012. Our team ‘Ad Infinitum’ was honoured with ‘Runners up’ title in the prestigious Go Green Emission award. It was a time that we all cherish. We split our work in to number of sub-tasks and shared our responsibilities. We had a team that focused on marketing and getting necessary funding, a team on design, which had sub teams like chassis, powertrain, suspension and steering, a procurement team and the fabrication team, and as the Team Captain, I learned the management and leadership skills through this process and came out successful. We had both pain (emotional) and fun, and the moments we spent together are etched in time memorial forever.
