Sakthi Sugars hired me as Asst. Manager – Instrumentation; in the present capacity I am accountable for the E&I Part in operation & maintenance of sugar processing plant & thermal power plant capacity of 1x35 MW, spanning:  Boiler: Cethar Vessels Ltd., 110 ATA, 135 TPH Turbine: HTC Ltd., China – 35 MWI am capitalising on my technical skills in handling all Boiler body instruments, Main Plant DCS – Yokogawa CS3000, TSI and auxiliary systems instruments handling, all VFD’s, 2x20 KVA UPS and water quality analyzers. Key contributions include:  Planning and establishing preventive & major overhaul maintenance schedules and resources for all instrument/ control systems in assigned field Raising/ reviewing plant modifications while liaising with operations and engineering personnel to ensure acceptance and timely implementation of related projects Reviewing & commenting on the instrumentation & control aspects of all engineering projects undertaken in assigned field including preparation of statement of requirements, reviewing scope of work, technical specification, tender document, conceptual, basic and detailed engineering design packages Participating in commissioning, start-up and handover activities and maintaining new plant and equipment; assessing suitability of new equipment/ technology and witnesses their trialsFor the smooth execution of the above mentioned deliverables, I ensure all activities are carried out in a safe, timely, efficient and cost effective manner to maximize plant availability and meet production targets. I also prepare note for management approvals, work orders/service orders & purchase orders as per the requirement.

Spray Engineering saw me leveraging skills in checking of various instrumentation related hookup drawing/ documents like control building layout, instrument layout, JB/cable schedule, selection of cables, and bill of materials for erection and commissioning. During the stint, I gained hands-on experience in installation configuration & calibration of several field instruments like Pressure & Temp transmitters, DP Transmitters for level and flow measurement, pneumatic control valves, etc. I played a pioneering role in construction of: Hemarus Technologies Ltd., Belgaum, KA , a 3500 TCD sugar plant for fully automated boiling house with 18 MW thermal power plant – SUPCON DCS, china with FW243X controller (ECS 100 configuration) Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Sugars Ltd., a 3500 TCD sugar plant with 22.0 MW thermal power plant - Honeywell DCS with C300 controller)I also undertook automation of cooling & condensing systems and equipments involved in Energy Saving with National Instrument’s LOOKOUT 5.1 – PLC based ISAGRAF 3.5 software and vertical Continuous Pan for Sugar Industries.
