These were related to drinking water, road connectivity, electricity, sanitation, social sector issues, etc. • Introduced IT-enabled Janadhar system to provide online services to the people such as income certificate, community certificate, domicile certificate etc. This had reduced the footfall in the government offices. • As a District Magistrate, Haridwar (2011 and 2014) successfully conducted various religious fairs wherein millions of people participated and took a holy dip in the River Ganges. Introduced efficient systems of crowd management, proper sanitation, and effective traffic management. • Solved long-pending revenue cases, including a remarkable 12 year old case in Udham Singh Nagar district (2008) involving 1700-acre land. This land was made available to the government, which can be utilized for various developmental activities, especially for landless poor people. • As District Magistrate, Pithoragarh (2007) we have solved an international issue through negotiation with a Tibetan group who wanted to cross the International border for a protest. This could have been a big issue, but through negotiations and convincing the group, the problem has been solved peacefully. • As District Magistrate in various districts, conducted seven general elections (for Parliament, State Legislative Assembly, and Panchayat elections) in a free and fair manner. Additionally, I have been appointed as the General Election Observer by the Election Commission of India in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar.

All the developmental activities related to watershed development and resource mapping of watershed areas were done for more planned interventions. Recharging of natural springs and streams was also taken up. • Effective irrigation initiatives- With the convergence of the irrigation and agriculture department, the survey was conducted to identify farmers’ needs and availability of water sources. A separate budget was allocated for the irrigation network creation to rectify the farmers’ irrigation problems.• Water harvesting initiatives - In the hill areas, poly tank and the poly house were introduced simultaneously to collect the excess rainwater and utilize it as life-saving irrigation and precision farming with micro-irrigation.
