Worked for Mississippi State as the Representative of Korea Office of MDA (Mississippi Development Authority) for 9 years from January 2014, promoting to attract FDIs to the state. Prior to joining the MDA, I dedicated most of my professional life to Hyundai Corporation, a trading arm of Hyundai Business Group for 26 years and served as the Senior Vice President during the last few years. I have experience in working through all stages of projects from bidding preparation to post-due diligence in global projects in the plant, offshore, shipbuilding, machinery, automobile, and construction sectors. During the period between Hyundai and MDA, I served as the President of Poongjin Inc., China, and led development projects for interior design and construction works for Nike, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company, and Korean Air offices. I also served as CEO for TIS, Inc. for the project development of a Traffic Intelligence System, e.g. parking guidance system.One of my strongest assets as a businessman is my experience as international representative in various countries. A major part of my life was with Hyundai Corporation, in which I embarked on a lifetime journey that continued over 26 years. I was fortunate to live the life of a globally scaled businessman, working overseas for more than 16 years in cities like Kuala Lumpur, New York, Moscow and Bangkok. I have worked through all stages of projects from bidding preparation to post-due diligence in the plant, offshore, shipbuilding, machinery, automobile, and construction projects. Maintaining cooperative relationships with clients and partner companies in the industry was critical in carrying out the business as well as successfully concluding negotiations.Before my career as a businessman, I was able to develop leadership skills as a navy officer to lead and motivate team members to bring out their best performance. It was with such leadership skills that I was chosen as the initial member to establish new representative offices in Malaysia, the United States, Russia, and China.
