I am truly inspired by those who love what they do in service of others, because I believe loving what you do allows you to do your best work, to provide the best service, and to be remembered. I love what I do as a Program Coordinator at Youth Employment Services where I have successfully led initiatives that support clients with barriers to employment, and where I have also consistently exceeded program outcome targets where clients are supported in finding employment, starting their own business or in going back to school. What drives me is my desire to make meaningful and long lasting impact in the lives of the people I serve, because I too greatly benefitted from such services in my youth which were led by great people who showed care.I didn’t initially set out to work in the non-profit space, but I really feel that my job is a true calling, and I’m happy I took the fork in the road. I’m a family first kind of guy and a proud father of 3 boys. I love to exercise and read, and you can always find me tinkering with a side-hustle. This has kept me sharp, and has forced me to take on new challenges and learn new skills which have greatly improved the level of effectiveness I’ve had in my career. Anyone who knows me well, will tell you that I think in spreadsheets. From generating reports to forecasting sales, I really enjoy organizing data and solving both professional and personal problems by utilizing spreadsheet and database tools like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Microsoft Power BI and Big Query to name a few. Also, as a facilitator, one of the workshops I enjoy delivering the most, whether it’s virtual or in-person, is teaching young entrepreneurs how to use spreadsheets to manage their business and personal finances. This includes calculating their start-up costs, income statements, cash-flow statements, client list and personal budget just to name a few.
