Hi, I'm Sera, coming to you from Austin, TX. I am an active maker of culture + community, using my superpowers of strategy, fundraising, and storytelling to deepen the impact of the Beloved Communities that I get to be a part of. My community organizing and strategic planning background ranges from reproductive rights to reparations to COVID vaccine equity to pro-immigration campaigns; I really love to gather folks together to connect to issues rooted in justice through collective joy. I've worked on global health actions in over twenty countries spanning North America, Africa, Asia, Central America, the Middle East, and the Caribbean, having raised many millions dollars for programs reaching over three million people. I am the founder of both a leading feminist global aid organization, Circle of Health International, and a two social impact platforms, Waking Giants and Better Union. My specialties are : Mentoring founders + interim directors, social impact entrepreneur and executive coaching, community organizing, reproductive/sexual health + infectious disease in humanitarian crisis settings, fundraising, activism, facilitation, strategic planning, and Board of Directors development.I can be found, most days, creating, swimming, cheering on my teenage kids, and basking in the glow of my brilliant Pediatrician, ceramist, and bass playing husband. I am lucky beyond measure, doing what I can each do to pay it forward.

I oversaw budgeting efforts, tended to the administrative needs of the organization, conducted organizational systems audits and made recommendations based on the findings, and coached the leadership of both the staff and the Board through the transition. During my tenure with CBI, the congregation passed the first year's observation of an arson attack. I supported the CBI leadership through the preparation for that shared community experience, including participating in the committee planning for the recovery phase. This exciting role enabled me to combine my love of community organizing with my identity as a Jew. I even got to wear my public health hat in this role when we combined the religious school's open house with a COVID + flu shot vaccine clinic. I'd welcome the oppotunity to engage in such short-term, interim roles in the future. -
