The Korea Presidential Council on Intellectual Property is a presidential agency that serves as a control tower in the intellectual property sector, such as establishing a national strategy to realize an intellectual property powerhouse and deliberating, coordinating, and inspecting related policies. The National Intellectual Property Commission was launched in April 2011 by the Law on Intellectual Property. The Prime Minister and a civilian chairperson serve as co-chairs, and the committee consists of 13 government members (ministers) and 19 civilian members, as well as expert committees for five fields (creation, protection, utilization, infrastructure, and new intellectual property) and special expert committees.www.ipkorea.go.kr

The Presidential Committee on Young Generation is an advisory board that is directly affiliated to the president of the Republic of Korea. The committee, established on July 13, 2013, advises the President on Young Generation issues such as job creation, communications with the Young Generation and policy making.The committee was formed to strengthen communications between the government and the young generation (YG), to make policy-making processes for the YG more effective. The government has defined the YG as those aged between 19~39. The major role of the committee, is to advise the president about policy-making issues on the YG. Having ‘Field, People, and Collective Labour’ as its main theme for the operation, the committee also takes a role as a mediator between the government departments throughout the policy-making processes related to YG issues.The Presidential Committee on Young Generation functions in the following three areas;Job creation: discovering jobs in public/private sectors, building young generation-friendly business environment, sponsoring international job searching.Policy Development: mediating YG policy fragmented throughout the government departments, supporting government projects related to the YGCommunications/nurturing the YG: online and offline communications, encouraging innovation, nurturing programs such as mentoring.
