In 2015, NLU launched the undergraduate college, which is rooted in driving equity in bachelor’s degree access and attainment by offering affordability, strong wraparound support, and a personalized and professionally focused curriculum.- Grew enrollment from 390 in 2016-2017 to 1,450+ for fall of 2019 and 1,600+ for fall of 2020.- NLU now ranks as the 3rd most frequently attended 4-year college and is the top private 4-year college destination for Chicago Public School graduates, and ranked #1 nationally in increased % of under-represented minorities served by an institution.- Reached target population of students historically marginalized in higher education, with incoming enrollment comprised of majority low-income (88%), Black and Latinx students (88%), and first-generation college-goers (81%) with an annual persistence rate of 70%.- Established a holistic student centered outreach and enrollment strategy by streamlining business processes and leveraging strong relationships with parents, schools/districts, and community based partners, resulting in application growth from 2,150 for fall 2016 to over 4,615 for the fall 2020.- Managed a team of 10 professionals across two campuses and 9 student Ambassadors. - Co-led multiple cross-functional and cross-departmental committees to establish the marketing and communication strategy for the UGC and to find continuous improvement in the lead-to-start experience.

Chicago Public Schools is the 3rd largest school district in the US. OECE serves children from birth through 2nd grade, which serves approximately 120,000 children in 400+ school-based programs and 110+ community-based agencies. - Set strategy as part of the core team for Chicago: Ready to Learn! and the Preschool Expansion Grant that resulted in a 139% increase in full day preschool programs with over 27,000 seats in CPS and CBOs and a 20% expanded funding to our infant toddler programs.- Managed Prek and KG assessment systems for the OECE, including implementing the IL Kindergarten Readiness Assessment. - Developed scoring rubric and monitoring system for CPS’s compliance with Illinois Quality Rating Improvement Rating System with 75%, of our CPS preschool classrooms, across 364 schools, achieving a Gold rating.- Led design and implementation of a centralized application process as a part of Chicago: Ready to Learn! This resulted in 90%+ of placed families receiving their first choice option and a 3x increase in Black and students living in lowest income neighborhoods being enrolled in full day pre-k programs over 4 years.- Managed department’s data systems, ensuring data systems were created, integrated, and maintained in accordance with funder requirements achieving 100% compliance.- Oversaw the creation of guidelines for preschool student attendance to reduce chronic absenteeism in the district, along with monitoring dashboards and accountability reports.- Co-led the development of the annual 3-year strategic plan with revised mission and vision statement integrated objectives from the Governor’s office, the Mayor’s office and the CEO’s office.- Core member of education steering committees, including the; Internal Research Review Board, District’s Data Governance Committee, Mayor’s Coordinated Assessments and Evaluation Workgroup, and IL Early Learning Challenge – Technical Assistance Learning team - Led a team of over 30 full and part-time staff.
