Language Technologist

Swiss Life offers individuals and companies comprehensive advice and a broad range of products in the fields of pension planning, finances and asset management.As a language technologist and translator, my responsibilities include the following:Technological:• Neural Machine Translation System: error tracking and quality analysis including (real-time) improvements, terminology integration, raising risk awareness among all employees through training, planning and implementation of company-wide system deployment• CAT-Tool Trados Studio: testing of new releases, planning and coordination of software upgrades and updates, bug reporting and rectification, system (re)configurations• Tool-based TM maintenance, build up and retain knowledge (RegEx, filters, etc.)• Microsoft Copilot/ChatGPT: Microsoft Early Access Program participants, rollout and employee onboarding, bug reporting, needs and benefits evaluation• Definition of measures and processes based on new insights/needs• Ensuring the comprehensive operational business of all deployed tools and systems• Coordination of various stakeholdersStrategic:• As a member of the core team: strategic repositioning of Language Services towards a competence centre for various linguistic matters, including inclusive language• Direct consultation with the Head of Language Services on various strategic and technological concerns• As an intermediary between the IT department and the Language Services: Orchestrating different stakeholders considering various needs• Continuous review/optimisation of the existing IT landscape• Ongoing product screening in the open market including cost evaluationsPersonal:• Out of personal interest: Participation in internal training in areas such as positive psychology, stress management, and many more.
