I have a PhD in Informatics (aka CS), at the University Edinburgh, researching Natural Language Processing (NLP).I specialise in AI Fairness, multilinguality, and interpretability.I completed my MS in the same at UW . I was also a part-time researcher at the Bayes Centre for Data Science and have been a research engineer at Information Sciences Institute and a visiting researcher at Meta and Amazon.Before that, I spent 4.5 years at Google (NYC and Asia), growing a recently acquired tiny adtech company into a multi-billion dollar business. And 1.5 years as a sailor on the North Sea.I am fascinated by ML, NLP, the mind, and the importance of narrative to get anything across in any society.
