Hi I'm Serena (she/her), I strive to advance racial equity and gender equality through strategic policy development.🔍My biggest strength is being able to recognize opportunities for equality and equity in domestic and international public policy. 🗃I have three years of experience working as a public servant researching policy, developing communications initiatives and integrating emerging trends in gender equality and climate justice into policy development. I trained the Global Affairs Canada, Caribbean Regional Development Team on SharePoint how to's and general Microsoft 365 usage.🌎My specialties include cross-cultural awareness, EDI and intersectionality initiatives, policy research, and social media planning and coordination. 💻I garnered my Bachelors degree in Global and International Studies with a specialization in Global Law and Social Justice from Carleton University in June 2021. A highlight of my undergraduate career was producing a research paper in my fourth year titled "Is That Your Real Hair?" An Analysis of the Politicization of Black Women's Hair, reflecting upon the social and cultural scrutiny of the black female identity.✈️In my spare time I enjoy travelling and experiences new cultures and food.
