About Serena Rodriguez

Due to the volume of messages I get, please read this before you reach out to me: Please do not contact me with work opportunities unless they're for non-profits. To be in compliance with my loan repayment, I must work full-time for a nonprofit. I will no longer be responding to the volume of messages I get for opportunities outside of these parameters. Thank you for your understanding and respect of this request! Without further ado, here's a highlight about my work and values as a seasoned therapist. As an Integrated Mental Health Therapist at Sea Mar Community Health Centers, my mission is to empower individuals through crisis intervention and tailored psychoeducation. My practice is grounded in a systemic, trauma-informed, anti-oppression lens and I emphasize the interconnectedness of mental wellbeing, physical health, and societal structures. Our team collaborates to provide vital behavioral health services, ensuring patients receive timely support and connection to community resources. In my private practice, I serve the LGBTQIA+ folx, those with chronic conditions, large-bodied individuals, and fellow therapists. It is vitally important and I strongly value using a systemic lens that recognizes the role of systemic oppression in the perpetuation of trauma as well as mental and physical health struggles. Leveraging diverse therapeutic modalities, including Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, DBT and CPT I facilitate clients' journeys toward self-acceptance, building and maintaining their supportive community, clarity about their values and identity, and functionality in their daily lives. Through strength-based, trauma-informed approaches, I strive to help individuals navigate life's complexities and achieve personal growth.
