The biggest lesson my econometrics professor wanted us to learn: “Question Everything.”He encouraged us to ask the important questions, the hard questions, and the questions we were sure we already knew the answer to. He instilled in us the need to be curious and explore data – to use that data to make informed decisions and provide factual proof to back it up. I regularly use these lessons in my current profession. I work with departments across the organization to put together metrics on already existing practices or to see where there are opportunities for growth. I provide an avenue for stakeholders to analyze past trends to see where changes have taken place and where improvements need to be made.Showing the capabilities and importance of meaningful data has become a passion. I take pride in giving explanation and proof to existing presumptions. I love helping people measure the value of their own hard-work and helping to solve business problems through fact-based investigation. One of my proudest accomplishments is in putting together analyses to be presented to chief officers.Tools that I have utilized include SAP, SPSS, Tableau, and Stata. I use SAS, Power BI, and SQL on a daily basis in my current profession. I also consistently use Microsoft Office Suites, and have an in-depth knowledge of Excel and its pivot table capabilities.
