Barefoot Dialogues is an initiative by the Oberlin Office of Religious and Spiritual Life to promote interfaith and cross-cultural relating through sustained dialogue groups that meet biweekly over the course of an academic year. As a facilitator, I run a 20 person interfaith group of first year students where my responsibilities include planning dialogue.

As a manager and booker at Cat in the Cream, a student-run coffee house and event venue, Icontact and book performers, write and approve contracts, coordinate event logistics, including performer travel and lodging reservations, do social media promotion and website maintenance, and oversee day-to-day coffeehouse operations.

Oberlin’s ExCo Department is the only student-run accredited department in the country. ExCo allows students and community members to develop and teach courses to their peers for credit. The Department is run by a 5 student Committee who oversee logistics, collaborate with instructors, and facilitate communications with College administrators. I serve as.

The Grape is Oberlin College’s biweekly alternative print newspaper. Hired as Features Editor, responsible for compiling and editing the Features section which is composed of news pieces and longform investigative journalism. Spearheaded a column profiling radical past faculty and guest speakers of Oberlin College.

Completed a remote summer Communications internship at The National Partnership, a national, non-profit, non-partisan organization that works to change policy and culture in regards to issues of health care, reproductive rights, and fairness in the workplace. At the Allegheny Conference I: supported the Conference’s staff with any administrative duties (scanning, digitizing, note-taking), attended weekly professional development trainings (topics included cross cultural competency in the workplace, budgeting, and public speaking), and contributed to the Pittsburgh Passport talent attraction and retention series.

Elected by the Oberlin College student body to serve on Senate and then internally elected within Senate to serve as its Communications Director for the Spring 2019 semester. My duties included leading the campus-wide Communications working group, facilitating working group meetings, attending and voting in General Faculty meetings, sending a weekly.

Oversaw social justice efforts and campus outreach for Peace Community Church, a prominent Oberlin community organization. At the end of this position, I presented a capstone on how youth and adult organizers can serve as better allies to each other (attached below).

The Network is a grassroots coalition of student activists that I co-founded with fellow youth organizers that aims to empower Pittsburgh youth and foster horizontal leadership. I served as the Network’s Media Liaison, and I secured the Network coverage in The Nation, Time Magazine, CNN and The New York Times. Notably, in 2018, we fund-raised over $5,000.
