Dr. Forte is an accomplished scientific and clinical based leader with over 20 years of direct leadership experience and a record of success blending scientific expertise and business acumen to drive global business development, commercial strategy, and medical affairs. She has extensive experience in the field of genetic medicine having been directly involved in strategic launch development and commercialization strategy for several gene and RNA therapies. Most recently her focus has been on business development of genetic medicine assets. Her interests include rare disease, gene replacement, genetic medicines for neuromuscular and metabolic diseases, AAV technologies, and gene editing.Dr. Forte received her master’s in public health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland and earned her PhD in Virology and Immunology at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Forte completed her post-doctoral training and fellowship training at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute holding dual appointments at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and in the Department of Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. She continued her training as a senior fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington prior to moving into industry.
