We established an advisory board of stakeholders to make data informed decisions to guide policy and procedure reform which has included changes to faculty merit reviews, teacher course evaluations, and hiring portfolios. ● Work with Gatton leaders to implement diversity and inclusion programs to recruit and retain students, faculty, and staff from historically underrepresented groups. nal, and alumni. We frequently have over 100 people in attendance virtually. ● Work with the University of Kentucky VP of Institutional Diversity, and diversity liaisons from other colleges to develop joint programs, implement best practices, and engage in a unified university-wide diversity and inclusion effort. ● Work with Gatton’s academic programs to develop, maintain and nurture relationships with outside affinity groups. This has included extensive internal and industry benchmarking and assessment of practices with all five academic departments to gather information around best practices for their particular field, and provide action items and measurable goals for future recruitment processes. ● Work with Gatton leadership and personnel on the College’s accreditation efforts. This has included building survey instruments to collect data around community and belonging, and implementing the survey to gain insight into the college climate for diversity, equity, and inclusion as led by the leadership within the College. ● Work with Gatton leadership and personnel on the College’s strategic plan to intentionally include diversity and inclusion efforts, best practices, and measurable goals.
Gatton Honors Pathway Director
● Sustain and enhance the program direction of the Pathways through policy review, analysis, and program evaluation and development. Each year our students complete a graduation survey. Pathway students are consistently in the top categories for salaries and job offers. Over 80% of graduates indicated a positive outcome after graduation. ● Ensure students have essential employability skills that are documented, and students can provide evidence of experiential learning opportunities that ensure career success.● Work collaboratively with campus partners including: UK Honors, the College of Engineering, the Graham Office of Career Management, and the Stuckert Career Center; and collaborate with administrators, faculty, and staff to enhance name recognition of Global Scholars, Social Enterprise and SEAM programs with key constituents, including potential employers. I have led the charge to create the annual Business Innovation Summit that brings together the UK campus and the larger community to highlight innovation, and the annual business pitch competition for graduate and undergraduate students. This impacts well over 150 students each year. ● Serve as the academic advisor for all Gatton Honors Pathway Students providing personalized academic advising and professional development to over 230 students. We have increased retention in the program to over 90%, and established leadership and engagement opportunities by creating Pathway Student Executives, and intentionally building partnerships within the business community to create career pipelines. ● Collaborate with the Gatton College Recruiter to support the recruitment of high achieving students into Gatton College Honors Programs. This includes major presentations at Merit Weekends, recruitment visits, events and general communications, as well as reviewing all applications for the Pathways. Applications increased by 39.33%, and an additional 22.2% in the second year.
