About Serge Francois
I started my digital career in 1997 in the field of ‘traditional’ Telecommunication (remember SDH) at a time when Internet was connecting barely above 10 million hosts. Since then I never stopped working on IP communication either in deploying innovative Broadband Cable Access technology with the Silicon-Valley based startup Terayon, or later on Product Managing Digital Video technology dealing with the then emerging Targeted Ad Insertion . Following to my Master in Management at Solvay, I had the opportunity to join Motorola as Senior Architect and, later on, as Digital Video Product manager, assisting with the development of the Digital Video product portfolio, positioning Motorola in a brand new ecosystem for the company – Simulcrypt - and establishing several strategic partnerships with leading vendors in the Conditional Access Industry. After Motorola, I embarked on a new venture with a new challenge as VP Sales and Deputy General manager in a SME company doing triple play system integrations in quite exciting but challenging environment (Caribbean and Indian Oceans Islands just to name a few).During all my career, I have hold roles with Sales, Technical, Marketing and General Management responsibilities. In my various positions as product Manager I’ve also done numerous Lectures in Shows and wrote White Papers and Articles.My field of expertise include Docsis (from 1.0 to 3.1 and counting), DVB (I sold/designed and deployed DVB-C/S/T solutions for various operators in EMEA & CALA) and the 3-screens technologies which feed the iPad’s and iPhone’s of this converging world.
