Designing distributed production systems, mostly in Java; one was a prototype in Android. Developed new components as part of the largest system changes in the history of the corporation. These use asynchronous JMS and synchronous SOAP Web services. Established the first classroom in Quebec equipped with personal computers. The computers were also networked. Prior to this classroom, all computer science teaching in the province was done with punch cards and remote mainframes. Established the first computer science department at the college.

In the Economics Engineering Dept., developed the statistical model for the equipment costs for the last mile, i.e., from the switch to the handset, which, we found out, was 60% of all the capital costs of the entire network. This was part of the complete econometric model of the corporation, the first model of its kind in the world.

Designed and developed the first system to alert train conductors of danger when transporting extra-dimensional loads over the entire network, covering most of Canada. Extra-dimensional loads are cargo that exceed normal size and weight limits. The system worked flawlessly and kept in service for more than 10 years.
