“Solving actual problems and solving them properly (not just the easy ones and not just some clumsy way)” - was always my approach to any job. And I am striving for the best possible solution. This became my second nature long time ago, when our math teacher would award us a B mark (i.e. ”good”) for a 100% accurate, but not the most elegant/rational solution. To get an A (“excellent”) one had to be excellent.My fundamental background in physics and mathematics helps me to reach understanding and then get to a solution in a wide range of fields:*I accelerated the “Daedalus” Reservoir Engineering software 10,000,000 times, transforming it from a useless into a viable commercial product (by properly applying the Boundary Element Method).*A unique NMR watercut meter was designed and built for the oil-field conditions under my supervision.*Electric fields, fluid dynamics, and ion motion is modeled in one piece of my software used in ion mobility and in mass spectrometry. Its efficiency and flexibility is rooted in the BEM.*I developed laboratory methods for characterizing heat and mass transfer, electromagnetic properties of porous and other materials.*More than 100 publications and patents represent my work in reactive fluid dynamics, nuclear physics, electron-positron systems, quantum and classical electrodynamics, X-ray and gamma tomography, image reconstruction and analysis, digital rock physics, petrophysics, interaction of radiation with matter, laser physics, etc.*In theoretical work I rely on analytical, FEM, BEM, finite differences, Monte Carlo methods to name a few. I was directly involved in experimenting and engineering work – in many cases as a leader and a supervisor.*I combined my work in Academy, the Airspace, Atomic Energy, and Oil/Gas industries with teaching.*A fun fact: my publication on the “Eliahou-Kryuchkov conjecture” arrived 7 years prior to the Eliahou’s one.If you have a project I can help with, please, get in touch.
