Oversee engineering functions at Vista Mine including mine design and planning, permitting, drill and blast design, and scheduling of construction activities.

• Started at the multi seam, dipping deposit Vista Mine pre-commencement of mining, and had major impact in operational decision making from designing the first blast, box cut and dump, to monitoring ground control, analyzing target equipment production rates, supervising exploration drilling and examining cores. • Building and maintaining a Geologic Model (Vulcan).• Engineered then Standardized the Drill&Blast Design/Review/Analysis process (1m partings to 40m Overburdens). • Implemented various technologies and software (Terrain, Mineware. Blast IQ, Vulcan, Shot Plus, Deswik, AccuGrade)• Short, Medium and Long Range Plans to match sales’ requirements for tons.• Created the Template and then Supervised and Reviewed End-of-Month reporting.• Worked with VP. Of Engineering and Environment on Regulatory Permit applications and revisions (PMT, Slurry Impoundments, Ponds, Refuse Pile, topsoil stockpiles).

Responsible for the Drill and Blast Department; Budget Estimates, LOM Plans, Short term and Long term Engineering plans review, Escort MSHA and OSM inspectors. Projects: MSHA Ground Control Plan Review and Compliance, OSM permit revision, ATF Permit, End-of-month reports, bore hole variance study, cost of low interburden casts, Highwall reduction, equipment selectionCI projects: cast efficiency, product density and blend, pattern efficiency, in-house shot report program, 6S projects on silos and magazines.

Supervise and assist Junior engineers and surveyors. Work with production superintendent on pit planning, scheduling, and advancement designs. Supervise and Review the End-of-Month reporting prior to final submission. Work with D&B Manager on cost reports, blast design, cast layouts, cast analysis, overall shot effectiveness, and equipment requirements. Oversee the designs and scheduling of available equipment of two 8750 draglines, two Terex RH120E Excavators, Cat 992 Loaders, Cat 789 truck fleet, and support equipment of D11 and D10 dozers in two pits. Work with OSM, BLM, and MSHA inspectors on a consistent basis. Ensure compliance with approved R2P2, Ground control and OSM permits.Weekend supervisory rotation.
