After having graduated in Meteorology, I gathered vast experience in implementing weather and climate-related projects, including work on Early Warning Systems, climate change adaptation (CCA), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), impact-based forecasts (IbF) and agro-meteorology in assistance to farmers. In the course of my career, I have been assigned various operational tasks (weather forecasting, monitoring and evaluation), as well as management positions with particular focus on Mozambique national hydro-meteorological services, DRR projects, Severe Weather Forecast Demonstration Project - Southern Africa (SWFDP), liaison with the disaster risk management authority (INGC) and also as Consultant Meteorologist at the Angolan Weather Services (INAMET). In my previous role as Senior Meteorologist at INAM (Mozambican hydro-met services), I been working very closely with hydro-meteorological services within the Southern Africa region, as well as the DRR and disaster response community at the National Center for Emergency Operations (CENOE), engaging in hazard monitoring, risk awareness, institutional capacity building, and humanitarian affairs.As part of Mozambique Red Cross FbF-SAP, I will be leading the Drought EAP Development process, which will include the liaison with actors at the national, as well as regional scale, for which will build on my vast in-country and regional experience. A steep learning curve is waiting, with Drought Scoping Study research process as first upcoming challenge.
