Sergio Figueredo has more than 12 years of experience in business development, investment management working for financial service providers (FSPs), non-profits, financial institutions of development (FID) and NGOs. While studying at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Sergio managed the business accounts for TCF Bank and later on, he joined JP Morgan Chase to assist high-net-worth clients to determine investment needs. His interest in sustainable development and social investments inspired him to work with different NGO’s including ANED, a (FID) in Bolivia where he was in charge of research and development from micro-finance programs aiming to improve the quality of life of low-income families by empowering women.Later on, Sergio directed the development of an online financial matchmaking platform, AXiiS (Access and eXchange for Impact Investment and Sustainability) that connects Financial Service Providers (FSP) with investment-ready Small & Medium Enterprises (SME). After the successful launch, AXiiS reached with 6.4 billion USD worth of FSP’s assets under management and SMEs in over 20 countries throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa, Sergio focused on developing institutional partnerships with international investors, governments, and NGOs.Further, in collaboration with Alianza Cacao, Sergio was responsible for the finance component of an effort to reactivate the cacao sector in El Salvador, build local capacity and support cocoa SMEs to be credit-ready and be matched with FSPs through AXiiS.** Sergio’s objective is to ensure that the result of his work mobilizes investments that generate a meaningful social-economic and environmental impact in developing countries while generating revenue to investors.
