I am an educator and social science researcher dedicated to fostering equity in education, with a particular focus on supporting underrepresented students. As a faculty member at City College of San Francisco, I teach and mentor a diverse range of learners, drawing on my extensive experience in student outreach and leadership development. My doctoral research at UC Berkeley explores the factors influencing academic persistence among Latinx and marginalized community college students. I have also applied my expertise in student support programming through research at the Marcus Foster Education Institute, where I focused on enhancing student retention and success strategies.In addition to my work in education, I have a background as a public health practitioner, focusing on health education and community-based interventions targeting marginalized populations. Early in my career, I coordinated and managed public health programs that sought to address disparities in access to health resources. This experience provided me with a deep understanding of the intersections between health, education, and social justice, further informing my holistic approach to supporting students in higher education and ensuring that their basic needs are met alongside their academic goals.
