I have 20+ years of overall professional design experience and a track record in dealing with strategic product development and innovation management in cross functional team environments. Throughout my career, I have also focused on the application of emerging technologies in my work, particularly AR/VR/MR as well as NUIs.My employment history extends to a variety of industries including B2C (retail, consumer products, commercial and home furnishings) and B2B (fintech, supply chain/warehousing, robotics, industrial equipment, enterprise, embedded and mobile software experiences). I also have 10+ years of experience building high performance, multi-disciplinary design teams and managing work assigned to industrial, interaction and visual designers, design researchers, and external design consultants.I agree with the principle of disruptive innovation taught by Clayton Christensen’s book, “The Innovator’s Dilemma” as well as the concept of lean innovation taught by Eric Ries’ “Lean Startup”. I have applied those principles to my work for close to a decade and attribute much of my success as a design professional to their teachings.A combined 14 years spent living abroad in Brazil and the Netherlands has taught me to appreciate divergent trains of thought derived from multi-cultural experience, which I firmly believe is an important attribute to successful design driven corporate cultures. Having fluency in Portuguese and experience with Spanish and Dutch has also taught me the importance of good communication skills as a professional designer.
