Sourcing and development of early-stage utility-grade solar and battery energy storage projects in the US and Canada

• Joined at startup phase as part of the management team with the objective to develop the largest independent renewable energy investment company in the target region. In less than 5 years Alcazar Energy raised USD240m of equity from leading investors including IFC (a member of the World Bank Group) and Mubadala (sovereign wealth fund of the United Arab Emirates) and fully deployed funding with the acquisition and development of 7 solar PV and onshore wind projects with a total capacity of 411 MW. • Responsible for the growth of the company in Jordan, including the origination, project development, structuring and financing of the 45MW Shobak Wind Project and the 86MW Al Rajef Wind Project.• Led the acquisition, negotiation, development and disposal of the 55MW Mersinli onshore wind project in Turkey.• Led other origination efforts across South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.• Led the sale process of Alcazar Energy to a consortium led by China Three Gorges (CSAIL). • Performed industry coverage and was responsible for sourcing and executing transactions for Gulf Capital’s food and beverage and power verticals. • Responsible for Gulf Capital Fund II’s acquisition of Chef Middle East, a leading distributor of specialty food products serving the foodservice industry in the Middle East.• Served on the Board of Directors of Chef Middle East. • Led the Gulf Capital Fund II’s acquisition of Smart Energy Solutions (SES), a temporary power company with operations across the Middle East and Africa.• Served on the Board of Directors of SES and implemented the company’s long-term incentive plan for management.• Advised SES on structuring, negotiation and legal documentation of several debt and equity financings.

• Responsible for the execution of Swicorp’s investments in energy intensive industries, including: polysilicon and glass fiber greenfield plants (Saudi Arabia), pharmaceutical glass plant (UAE), a leading titanium dioxide producer (Saudi Arabia) and a developer of power projects in Asia and Africa (UAE).

• Member of core transaction team that advised General Electric on the sale of GE Plastics to SABIC.• Advised a leading titanium dioxide producer on the auction of Millennium Inorganic Chemicals.• Advised a leading financial sponsor in the auction of Houghton International.

• Advised a major financial sponsor on the auction process of Degussa Construction Chemicals. • Advised a leading company in the industrial gases sector on the potential acquisition of BOC Group.

• Performed financial and industry analysis of the Latin American beverage sector. Wrote research reports and built valuation models of the NYSE ADRs: FEMSA, Coca-Cola FEMSA and AmBev. Coverage of Grupo Modelo, Pepsi-Gemex and Grupo Continental (Mexican Stock Exchange).
