I'm a Costa Rican software developer with a M.Sc. in Computer Science, currently working as a technical lead for data science and engineering projects at Growth Acceleration Partners. I design and oversee solutions to complex data-related tasks; from innovative exploration, transformation and modeling efforts to robust and scalable pipeline design, development and maintenance. I am also part of the Data Analytics Center of Excellence within GAP, working to coordinate outreach initiatives with data science and engineering communities in Costa Rica, lead recruitment and onboarding efforts for new analytics projects, mentor and guide GAP associates and keep the company up to date with the latest developments in the field.I have experience in a variety of software engineering subjects that I leverage day to day: backend architecture, mobile and ubiquitous computing, resource-intensive embedded software, low-latency audio and video streaming, geolocation, cloud computing and others. I work with large multicultural teams and have direct communication with both technical and non-technical audiences to present and discuss implementation proposals and results.I consider myself language-agnostic, having worked in a wide variety of environments with different constraints and requirements. I work day to day with Python, R, Scala and others, and am familiar with platforms such as AWS and Spark, as well as other popular data engines, frameworks and tools.I'm a lecturer at Cenfotec University, as part of the Data Analytics post-graduate program, focused on providing participants with the tools and knowledge necessary to become competitive in the field.
