About Sergio Pérez, Ed.D.

With a steadfast commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), my role at Loras College encompasses guiding our institution's DEIB efforts. Our team's strategies are tailored to enhance access, persistence, and completion rates for marginalized student populations, leveraging my expertise in social networking and retail management.As a DEIB pracitioner I've honed my skills in advocacy and leadership within higher education and community organizing. My dedication goes beyond professional responsibilities, aiming to empower First Generation, Latinx, Black, and Queer identifying individuals, and fostering an environment where every voice is heard and valued. As a proud member of LULAC and advisor to the National LULAC Collegiate Council of the Year (Loras LULAC) and one of the founders of Dubuque LULAC's "Dubuque Unidos" I have worked to mind and bridge gaps while empowering younger Latino/a/xs to access higher education and critical community resources to progress.
