About Sergio Silvestri

I was born and raised in a medium city in Brazil, 100km from the city of São Paulo, in a lower class family with a working father, housewife, three children and limited resources. I compensated these limits with creativity and often I had to make my own toys with materials I had available.In my youth I worked during the day to pay for secondary technical school and college at night. My education comprises an undergraduate in data processing and math teacher.In order to pay for the math college, I used to be a teaching assistant of Calculus and Physics and get a monthly discount. This was possible because I was a dedicated student and my teachers saw that I was capable of. I was the first math student of that college to be teaching assistant of two of the most difficult subjects at the same time.Today I live in Europe, in one of the regions with the highest economic growth. I moved to Czech Republic when I was 52 years old.In my 35+ professional life in the area of information technology I applied all this creativity, passion for learning and always looking for something new.I had the opportunity to work in several roles, such as computer typist, operator, programmer, systems analyst, people manager, architect and solutions manager.In 1998 I started working with IBM Infrastructure Services (now Kyndryl) at the beginning of datacenter outsourcing services for SAP applications and other corporate systems.I participated in the evolution of IT management services from service implementation and delivery to architecture and people management.I have working about 25 years as an IT architect and solutions manager on solutions of Mainframe, Unix, Windows, Linux, network, end user, security and Cloud for Industries like as telecommunication, retail, manufacturing, banking and energy & utility.Since 2017 working with IBM/Kyndryl Europe, I started my studies in these new worlds of Cloud and Data Science.These studies allowed me to earn 45 badges and 7 certifications:- IBM Data Science Professional- Accreditation Red Hat Delivery Specialist - Red Hat Enterprise Linux- Cloudera Sales Accreditation- Google Cloud Platform - Associated Cloud Engineer- Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – AssociateIn 2024 I started an MBA in Data Science and Analytics at USP - University of São Paulo/Brazil, considered the best university in Latin America and  the only University in Brazil in the top 100 best Universities in the world, according to QS World University Ranking.

Articulates the business and technical values of solutions and products to decision makers.Main Projects:2022 - Implementation, stabilization, maintenance and evolution of a corporate data governance and analytics platform on Cloudera and Azure, as well as the implementation of the use cases of data science and advanced analytics, for an Spanish state-owned railway infrastructure manager. I integrated the solution teams in India and Spain, integrated the solution, created the cost case and conducted the approval process.2021 – Managed Services for a Portuguese company that is the industry leader in wall to wall manufacturing, producing rigid plastic containers. The solution is to provide managed services for server, network, service desk, onsite support, office 365 and security compliance services for 70 factories in 19 countries, 350 servers, 300 network elements and 1400 end users. I conducted the Technical Leadership direction to create a remote management solution, centralizing, modernizing, and standardizing the Customer’s current distributed operation. We were successful in achieving the expected solution within the budget defined by the Customer. I managed solutioners and delivery teams in different countries, integrated the solution, created the cost case, and conducted the approval process.
