His long-term career includes among others being Vice-Minister of Energy in Peru. Key qualifications:• Long track record, +25 years working in consultancy in energy, climate change and sustainability. Hands-on experience in overcoming market failure and investment barriers.• Experienced in power sector reforms, energy efficiency, energy access, energy storage integration of decentralised energy systems, future energy needs, low carbon strategies and sustainable development. Extensive global network of contacts in all these areas.• Focus in policy assessment, business strategy design, capacity building, project evaluation, facilitation of partnerships, institutional relations and mobilisation of international funds.• Ability to manage large teams and ability to control quality and oversee project delivery of complex and multi-discipline projects. Experience in Europe, Africa, Pacific region, Latin America & Caribbean, South East Asia and the Middle East.• Strong cross-cultural experience with vast experience in organising and working with multi-stakeholders groups.• Good communicator with the ability to listen, resolve conflicts, adapt message, build trust, clarify responses, give positive feedback and do effective confrontation when necessary. Experienced in intergovernmental communications.• Good policy writing skills in English and in Spanish. Full reading comprehension in French, Portuguese and Italian. Business understanding of German and Dutch.
