Hydro Nexus focuses on Water and Ecosystems Sustainability, and delivers interdisciplinary consulting services involving the following fields: environmental and water resource engineering; Nature-Based Solutions (NBS); environmental istitutions and governance; environmental and ecological economics; environmental impact assessment and ecological performance; partecipatori mapping and geographic information systems (GIS); Cost of Environmental Degradation (COED) and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA); impact investment and business models. Hydro Nexus is currently working on assignments for the World Bank Group, Fondazione Alma Mater, and international universities.

Waterpreneurs is a trans-boundary accelerator supporting the scaling-up of impact investments financing the growth of local water entrepreneurs contributing to the realisation of the human right to water and sanitation (SDG 6). Waterpreneurs has a holistic and systemic approach (working with like minded organisations) and focuses on work in the field to generate positive social impact in the low income communities.

Presenter of the session “Hydropower and the Environment: Electricity Generation Options and Impacts” for the Hydropower Technology Course, a professional training course encompassing all major aspects of the hydropower industry and run twice yearly for practitioners from across New Zealand and Australia. The session focuses around the effects on the environment caused by hydraulic infrastructures throughout their lifecycle, as well as the impacts to hydro assets and operations caused by broader anthropogenic and environmental factors.The presentation material includes an outlook of New Zealand and global energy needs, renewable energy market trends, and prospects for generation options in relation to environmental, economic and social sustainability aspects. Since 2015, presenter also of the session “Hydropower and the Environment: Legislations”, focusing on the Resource Management Act and other legislative requirements associated with the electricity generation industry and the management of water resources.Hydropower Engineering provides mechanical and electrical engineering and project management services to the hydropower industry. Its consulting services cover key aspects of hydropower generation, including investigation of operational and maintenance problems, plant performance assessments, site supervision, dam safety reviews, and assistance with refurbishment and hydro development projects. Hydropower Engineering also offers specialised hydropower related training courses.
