I am an international anticorruption and white collar attorney based in Houston, Texas with experience supporting publicly traded companies that have been penalized for violations of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Previously, I served on Ericsson’s Legal & Compliance team as VP, Head of Compliance for North America, Europe, Latin America, and M&A Compliance. At Ericsson, I supported the company's compliance remediation efforts tied to its DOJ Monitorship and $1.06 billion dollar penalty. I was also the Chief Compliance Officer of Layne Christensen Company, where I led the company to a successful FCPA settlement resolution with the SEC. After Layne, I joined Bilfinger's Global Compliance Leadership Team and helped the company resolve its extended DOJ-FCPA Monitorship. Before my anticorruption compliance practice, I was a civil and commercial litigator at private law firms, beginning my career at Baker Botts LLP. Outside of work, I serve as Chair of Family Houston, am a Past President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston, and sit of the Economics Advisory Committee of The University of Texas at Austin, my beloved alma mater.
