CurrentConducts highly sensitive guardianship investigations which involve potential financial loss and/or failure to obtain/provide necessities of life or risk of serious, adverse effects to persons who may be suffering harm related to health care, shelter, safety, hygiene and nutrition.Investigates matters relating to the estates of clients for whom the Public Guardian acts as guardian of property and estates of deceased persons.Swears affidavits of individuals for court related matters and provides testimony in court. Provides education/outreach to stakeholders regarding the role of the Public Guardian and Trustee with respect to investigations under the Substitute Decisions Act, Mental Health Act, Health Care and Consent Act; prepares issues papers, briefing notes and participates in policy development.Mediates (in accordance with current legislation) in order to effectively resolve disputes.
