About Josh G.

Throughout my career, I have conquered many challenges and worn many hats in helping great companies achieve market growth, increased sales, broader online presence, team expansion, concept creation + validation, and multiple exits. I have worked with some of the best and the brightest and continually utilize those experiences in everything I do.I am intrinsically driven by challenge and competition. I love to win, but don't care who gets the credit. Obstacles excite me. When others see impasse, I see opportunity. I enjoy pressure and don’t stress. I think big, but more importantly, I execute. Talk is cheap, so I lead by example and let my work speak for itself.I'm left-handed with naturally curly hair. Speaks for itself right?

  • Virtual Chapter
    Co-Founder & Coo
    Virtual Chapter 2009 - 2012
Virtual Chapter solves a problem that every college student faces on daily basis, the complexity of managing both their academic and social lives. To understand the foundation of our business, think SalesForce.com meets college campuses, but that's only the beginning. Through an innovative, multi-layered platform, we provide management, communication, and financial tools to students and organizations. Ultimately, we connect students to each other and the organizations that matter to them. Virtual Chapter helps to keep student organizations more actively involved and organized, while reducing their bottom line. We are currently operating at several campuses around the Midwest and East Coast, but will be expanding Nationwide in the near future. As the co-founder of this service-based business, I am primarily responsible for a variety of areas including but not limited to sales, daily operations, and other customer service aspects. I deal with various aspects of personal selling, network marketing, strategic partnerships, web design, and other related facets of the business. For more information, please visit us online at www.VirtualChapter.com.Like the businesses I have started in the past, this experience has been a culmination of everything I have learned both in the classroom and real world. In applying my experiences thus far in life, I am able to see a vision on paper turn into reality from the foundation up. Through many marketing directions, I have learned innovative ways to approach problem solving, complex management, and other issues life presents. While being a full-time student and operating a business, I have matured into an organized, driven, and passionate professional who looks to grow both personally and professionally through opportunities presented my way.
  • Strategic Franchising Systems
    Online Marketing Manager Assistant
Strategic Franchising Systems May 2009 - Aug 2010
    Cincinnati, Ohio, Us
In this position, I was responsible for supporting the Online Marketing Manager in his list of duties. With a serious overload for a single person, I was given a lot of freedom to manage my own time in completing my duties. Some main tasks I worked weekly towards included managing SEO campaigns for several brands simultaneously, creating a uniform online presence across multiple social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and a few others. Additionally, I created promotional videos for each respective brand to be featured on the corporate websites as well as improving upon the existing YouTube brand channels. Finally, I researched and implemented several innovative and creative marketing tools that helped to increase sales leads and overall website hits.Over the course of my summers, each brand saw dramatic increases in web exposure with concrete evidence in the lead conversions and website statistics. With the responsibility and freedom granted from boss, I effectively improved my time management skills as well as my ability to juggle multiple tasks at the same time. It was a highly beneficial experience that will help my marketing background expand in the near future.
  • Cool College Crap
    Owner And Operator
    Cool College Crap 2006 - 2009
I successfully started this company from the ground up. I was responsible for all elements of the foundation including logo design, legal state recognition, website design, marketing, etc...My company's service offering was targeted towards high school and college age students. I created custom t-shirts and related apparel for all occasions including Senior Spring Break, Green Beer Day, and Intramural sports. I had intentions to enter the Greek Life market at Miami University, but found the barriers too hard to overcome with my current assets. I had many orders of varying need and prided my business model on superior customer satisfaction. The learning experience behind starting this legal, tax-paying company was the most valuable by far to this point in my life. I got experience in real-world application to concepts of which I taught myself as never having taken a single relevant class in school. I have a great understanding of the many elements a successful start-up requires and look to apply these same principles to my future entrepreneurial endeavors.
  • Puppies 'R Us
    Owner And Operator
    Puppies 'R Us 1996 - 2004
I started this business, with the help of my father, when I was 7 years old. To start, we'd buy entire litters of puppies from local breeders. It was my responsibility to take care of the puppies in all respects from food to cleaning to shots. From there, my father would handle advertising, sales calls, and showing the puppies. When we sold a puppy, the profit would go directly into my first bank account. The remainder of the money would be reinvested into purchasing more litters of puppies. This process continued until I was 9. By this time and a few years of watching, learning, and practicing with my father, I took over selling the puppies. By the time I was 10, we decided to keep several females and a single male from a champion blood line to begin breeding ourselves. While these puppies reached maturity levels, we continued the same litter buying and turnaround process until I was 12.Finally, the breeders were mature enough to start healthy breeding. In a few short months, the puppies delivered from our females were entirely profit. I placed the ads, took the phone calls, and showed the puppies alone. I saw tremendous rise in my sales confidence and this helped me develop from a very early age. By 13, I hired our family horse trainer to care for my puppies in addition to my sister (3 years younger) to sell the puppies in my absence, at 100% commission. At 14, I was fully removed from the process while still making on average about $1,500 per hour (part-time). Finally after other priorities began to take over with school and sports, I closed the business by finding loving homes for our breeders.
