- Identifies, develops and maintains Mission contacts among politicians, their staff, government bureaucrats, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Provides relevant information and research on, and analysis of national and regional political, economic, and social developments.
- Briefs senior Embassy leadership on a variety of political issues and related matters, including Turkish government and non-government reaction on matters regarding Sweden and the European Union.
- Monitors on a daily basis Turkish media, including social media, and provides translations of pertinent information.
- In charge of providing information and guidance on political issues in the press and information group in the Embassy, under the supervision of Deputy Head of Mission.
- Arranges appointments and meetings, receives visitors and provides general administrative support to the sent-out staff in the Political-Economical Unit.
Interpreter / Translator
The Interpreter/Translator reports to the Information Officer (IO) and is based in Ankara; works closely with the information Section, as well as the Cultural Affairs Officer (CAO) and the Cultural Section; is expected to provide timely and accurate translations or written material from Turkish to English and vice versa; will also be expected to perform.
