John Joannou has over 20 years’ experience in the property asset management industry. As a result, he has acquired an extensive portfolio in high-quality business space in commercial, industrial and retail for customers in key Australian markets. John’s innovation in property asset value adding strategies has earned himself the reputation as somewhat an expert specialist in his chosen field.His experience and knowledge have seen him build and develop a number of grass root start-up companies from humble beginnings to acquisition to multinational companies. Along with his numerous tertiary credentials, John brings a substantial wealth of technical knowledge and practical business experience to AON ARI Property Fund.In 2004 he commenced his next enterprise, the establishment of serviced offices in suburban locations. At its peak that business operated in 12 suburban precincts predominately in the South and Southwest Sydney.John’s serviced office business was sold approximately 4 years ago to the Regis Group a Global multinational provider of serviced office space. Using the net proceeds from that business sale John has purchased several substantial commercial investment properties throughout the Sydney Metropolitan Area. His knowledge of property investment was developed and enhanced by his selection and study of office sites in his serviced office business.John’s modus operandi is to select under forming and undercapitalised properties in establish locations and to perform essential repairs and value adding improvements. John was then able to renegotiate all leases and rental income, as a result, he substantially improved the asset values of all his property estates and investments.The lift and asset values has been well in excess of market appreciation and has facilitated additional debt finance to support further strategic investments.
