Financial Accounting and Taxation Preparation and review of financial and fund accountability statements, in compliance with standards in Accounting and Reporting; Monitoring budgets by cost category, cost centre and project on a rolling (year-to date) basis; Monitoring compliance with policies and procedures on human resource process including maintenance of the payroll, assets and inventories and records; Preparation and review of income and deferred tax computations and completion of tax returns; Advising on opportunities for tax planning. Auditing and Consulting Undertaking financial, special audits and investigations, pre-grant assessments, compliance and operational (VFM) audits and project evaluations in line with the global KPMG methodology. Conducting quality assurance and IT reviews and coordinating specialists and consultants. Evaluating the strategic and risk management processes including budgeting and liquidity management for appropriateness and operational effectiveness; Evaluating and refining financial and operational systems (e.g. cash flow management and costing systems) in line with current financial accounting and reporting practices; Evaluating and refining the design and operating effectiveness of accounting and internal controls to ensure optimum responsibility and maximum accountability.
