It is possible to have innovative work and fulfilling personal life. My personal motto is to be “Ever Improving.” This is something I strive to accomplish every day. Have you ever said that “I cannot learn this”, even if this skill could get you a better job? I have. One day, I tossed my programming book down in despair. I knew programming was a skill I simply couldn’t learn. After I had some time to rethink my position, I realized programming was simply a puzzle I needed to solve. Once my perspective changed, I rose to the challenge with new fervor. Two years later, I found myself on an airplane to an interview for a programming position. Now, I use that tenacity to solve complex problems every day. Pushing to learn new skills has become a daily necessity. Colleagues can count on me to listen to a problem, understand underlying causes, and create new and innovative solutions. I am no longer easily frustrated or intimidated by seemingly insurmountable challenges.What is an interest you always dreamed you could pursue? Two years ago, I couldn’t clap on beat. Music was something I claimed didn’t interest me. If I was honest, I didn’t like to learn things that don’t come easily to me. I needed to learn the value of practice and the science behind the music to fully appreciate and understand it. One day, I opened my old ukulele case and decided I was going to learn to play it, no matter what it took. I fell in love. After two years of study and practice, I play the tenor guitar and mandolin. Now, I am enjoying the challenge of music theory and composing. Opening that case began my musical journey culminating in my up and coming YouTube channel.It is my hope to connect with like-minded individuals that enjoy such pursuits.
