Multi and single family affordable housing project management in the Real Estate Development Department. Responsibilities include property acquisition, grant writing, bank financing, oversight of design professionals, entitlements, management of general contractor, bank draws, and coordination with sales/lease-up. Projects have included two mutual self help subdivisions of 25 & 30 homes with RDA & USDA financing, a 31 unit tax credit apartment project with HCD HOME and RDA funding, and a 44 unit farm labor housing project with funding from tax credits, HCD HOME, CDGB, Dept. of Labor, and USDA. A Certified Green Building Professional who has been pushing the envelope on sustainable construction since before it was mainstream. I've gotten special satisfaction out of managing our self help, sweat equity housing program. It's a privilege to be working for a mission driven nonprofit.

Overall construction management responsibility for 1,132 units of single family low income, below market rate and market rate homes and low income multi-family units, with total budgets of $157MM. Responsibilities included working with architects and engineers on design, developing and monitoring budgets and schedules, bidding and hiring subcontractors, hiring and supervising construction managers, superintendents and office staff and managing bank draws. Grew the construction department from a small operation to a significant regional general contractor producing high quality dwellings.

I operated a general contracting business designing and constructing custom homes, additions and remodels.
